What is mental health?
Mental health is essential for our emotional and psychological well-being. It involves how we think, feel, and act in daily life situations. Maintaining good mental health involves managing stress effectively, having healthy relationships, making balanced decisions, and enjoying life to its fullest.
It is important to talk openly about mental health issues to reduce the stigma that often surrounds them. People facing mental challenges deserve support and understanding.
Self-acceptance and self-care are essential steps to maintaining good mental health. This includes practicing gratitude, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, and seeking professional help when necessary.
Mental health awareness is essential in our society. By understanding and supporting those facing mental health issues, we can help create more compassionate and understanding communities for all.
What happens if we ignore our mental health?
When social, environmental, biological, and psychological factors are not adequately addressed, the doors are opened to mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, epilepsy, dementia, schizophrenia, and even developmental disorders in childhood. It is essential to remember that mental and physical health are closely related and should not be neglected at any time.
If mental and physical health take a backseat, mental disorders such as those mentioned above can be triggered, and in addition, other secondary diseases arise, such as endocrinological, immunological, neurological, and heart diseases.Ultimately, quality of life will always be the starting point for the overall well-being of any individual. What are some ways to maintain your mental health?
According to statistics, approximately 4 out of 5 people around the world will need psychological care at some point in their lives, but unfortunately, many of them do not have access to this type of help. This lack of access is particularly pronounced in low-income countries.
To address this problem, the World Health Organization (WHO) has established support plans and programs for governments, with a focus on promoting mental health care in the most vulnerable regions.
5 Tips for Mental Health Care. Mental health care is a crucial task that has become even more relevant in recent times, but its importance is not new. Professionals and organizations like ABC Medical Center have prioritized psychological well-being from different perspectives over time.
1. Rest adequately: It is recommended that each person rest between 6 and 8 hours a day to maintain good mental health.
2. Exercise regularly: Performing physical activity at least 3 times a week increases the release of endorphins and serotonin, hormones related to well-being.
3. Maintain a balanced diet: Following an eating plan from childhood and maintaining it in adulthood contributes to mental and physical development, promoting mental health.
4. Manage time efficiently: Learning to manage time to meet responsibilities at home, family and work is essential for well-being.
5. Learn to manage emotions: Receiving psychological support from an early age to learn to manage emotions based on everyday situations is essential for mental health care.
